Mystery Game: October 3, 2011

It’s time for the Mystery Game!

FV Cash Per Dart: 20 FV Cash
Darts We Used: 14
FV Cash We Spent: 280
With last week’s all-Cows Mystery Game taking place, we sort of assumed that this one would consist of Horse, you know? Sure enough, logic has prevailed with the unveiling of this week’s Mystery Game. The biggest head-scratcher is that a Decoration for Halloween is given away upon completing the collection, since we got an amazing Bull last week and all. All of these are compatible with both Horse Buildings and create their own Foals.

We have to admit to being a little bit confused by the proper layout of these new Horses in the Mystery Game; we don’t really see how one is better than the other enough to warrant classification as Rare, Uncommon or Common. The top Rare of the week that is being advertised is the Trotter Stallion, which used to mean something fantastic back when having a Stallion was a rare thing. These days it means much less but is still nice for Horse Stable enthusiasts, and this fella is worthy of a look due to its beautiful patterns of tan and white marble.

The secondary Rare prize of the week will catch some eyes due to its Fabio-esque mane that flows so freely in the Peruvian Horse. This is probably the best entry of the week due to how adorable the face is on this one combined with its long, flowing locks. Notice how the mane covers up practically all of its face but a small part where its eye is? So cute. This is one of the cutest non-Mini Horse designs we have seen in months, if not ever. Bravo to the art team on this one.

The first Uncommon prize in this all-star Horse ensemble is the Black Arabian Horse. This one is, in our opinion, way too similar to the Black Belgian Horse that was available recently on the Market for 1,000,000 Coins. We are not too impressed with this one, given how many black Horses there are in the game right now; seriously, go open up your Horse Paddock and scroll to the Bs to witness just how many black Horses there have been throughout FarmVille’s history. Pretty crazy, isn’t it?

On the other side of the coin is the second Uncommon Mystery Game prize of the week, the Trakehner Horse.  Much like its Uncommon brethren, the Trakehner Horse closely resembles some other Horses from FarmVille’s past enough to make us not think twice about it. The face reminds us a little bit of the Irish Hunter Horse, while the stripes along the legs are too similar to the Hanoverian Horse that was also not too long ago readily available. We can’t rightfully approve of this one too much.

This fella was the bane of our existence in tonight’s Mystery Game, taking our darts and cashing them in five times. Yuck! Now we’ve got five of these Common Brumby Horses sticking around our farm. Oh well, it could be worse. This is actually one of the very best Horses available in tonight’s Mystery Game, combining the color scheme of the Appaloosa Horse with the Andalusian’s head. It is enough of its own Horse to merit a recommendation, however.

Finally, we end the Mystery Game tonight with the second and final Common piece in this Horse-laden game of chance: the Tennesse Horse.  Yep, it’s missing an E at the end, definitely not our typo.  This one has some flat-out strange animations, as it slowly moves down low to the ground and then the animation cuts off, making the Horse’s sternum leap into the air by a foot or so. Eerie. This is too bad since we actually really enjoy the look of the Horse in both design and color.
Our Verdict: Play if you are a big-time Horse collector. 20 FV Cash is a simple price compared to the 26-35 FV Cash we’re used to paying on the Market.
